About

KANE SCHOOL TEACHER TRAINING

Co-directed by Kelly Kane and Matt McCulloch, the Kane School certification is a rigorous training program combining the classic principles of Pilates with a modern, clinical perspective on the human body. Known world-wide for its anatomy-based approach, the Kane School program goes beyond choreography to explain why exercises work. Students not only learn classic Pilates repertoire, but also delve deeply into biomechanics, postural imbalances and common injuries.
The Kane School Offsite Teacher Training Program (OTTP) allows Lana Sealy of Body Mekanix to host the Kane School Teacher Training program, which consists of Comprehensive Mat, Basic Training Phase I & II, as well as the anatomy pre-requisite Core Muscle Anatomy courses.

CORE MUSCLE ANATOMY

CORE MUSCLE ANATOMY

CMA explores musculoskeletal anatomy and basic kinesiology principles—emphasizing
the trunk, hip, shoulder girdle, arm, and neck —as they relate to the teaching and practice
of Pilates, yoga, and bodywork. It lays the foundation for further study as a movement professional and is a prerequisite for the Kane School certification program.

COMPREHENSIVE MAT

COMPREHENSIVE MAT

Comprehensive Mat is the Kane School mat Pilates certification program in which students master classical Pilates repertory while studying the application of Kane School Core Principles to each exercise. In addition, students build practical application skills with palpation techniques,
exercise progressions and modifications, and programming strategies for private sessions and group classes.

COMPREHENSIVE APPARATUS

COMPREHENSIVE APPARATUS

Apparatus Training is the Kane School Pilates equipment certification, broken into two phases.
The first phase of the Kane School equipment training focuses on mastery of classic choreography on all apparatus.
The second phase of the Kane School equipment training delves deeper into programming for injuries and specific populations.

LOCATION: Barbados, West Indies
